Timesing fractions

Yesterday me and my fellow maths group got given some fraction questions. But we had to use the simplifying strategy to work them out. For example...

1/2 x 4/4= 4/8 because you times the top number (numerator) by the top number which = 4 then u x the bottom number(denominater) by the bottom number wich =8 so put them as fractions and that is 4/8 but u can simplify it as in halve it by ones up to anything,in this case were going to halve it twice to get to its simplist form so the first part of halving makes it 2/4 then halve it again and that makes its simplist form 1/2 so that's how u solve fraction questions and simplify them that's all for now bye bye
